Genevieve Aubry

Genevieve Aubry is a Swiss political woman, born the March 4th 1928 with La Chaux-de-Fonds. She is originating in Lime-of-Breuleux the (the Jura).

Girl of the former adviser of Bernese State Virgile Monk, Genevieve Aubry obtained a diploma of mistress of home economics at the Teacher training school of Porrentruy. She domiciled with Tavannes.

She carried on a journalistic activity, in particular publishing articles in female magazines under the pseudonym of Genevieve Cohen. She wrote the Asset , bulletin in favor of a free economy, personal freedoms and Rule of law where she posted position of right-hand side. She is even taxed to be in extreme cases of the extremism of right-hand side, as Denis Barrelet points out it in the 24 Hours of May 12th, 1986, p. 7: " its political standpoint, all on the right conservatism more skimped, sometimes even inquiétantes".

She entered in policy during the crucial period of the Jurassic Question, melting the female Grouping of Democratic force (GFFD), which counted until: 6500 members. She was appointed radical-democratic Parti with the Grand the Council Bernese 1978 to 1980, then national adviser elected of the canton of Bern of the 26 octbre 1979 at December 3rd, 1995. At the time of its first election, it obtains the best result of all Switzerland by collecting 123.493 votes. It chaired the French Federation of the televiewers and listeners.

Genevieve Aubry was member of the Swiss delegation to the interparliamentary Union, of the Commission of foreign policy and that of the political institutions. She was favorable to the mode which prevailed in South Africa before the fall of apartheid. She failed in 1986 in her attempt to be elected with the Executive council of the canton of Bern (government).

Savage anticommunist, it was also president of the League anticommunist (WACL) and the " European Freedom Council".
