Generation of the sum frequency
The generation of sum frequency is a process by which two beams of Lumière to different Fréquence S interact under certain special conditions to produce light at a new frequency equal to the sum of that of the two interacting beams. The Génération of second harmonic is a special case of this phenomenon.
Into Optical linear, the frequency of the light does not change when it interacts with various materials. However, in non-linear Optique, of the light at a new frequency can be generated if the requirements are met.
The way simplest to visualize the process of generation of sum frequency is to imagine two Photon S which combines to produce a new photon at a new frequency (equal to the sum of both). As the energy of a photon is directly proportional to its frequency, energy during conversion is preserved.
