April 10th 1302: First meeting of the general states of the kingdom of France, convened by Philippe IV Beautiful the, with Notre-Dame de Paris.
The assembly which took this title was convened at the time of the disagreement which had risen between this prince and the pope Boniface VIII: the 3 orders decided in favor of the king. The States approved the king in his rejection of the pontifical authority (Boniface VIII).
