General election britanno-Colombian of 1941
The general election britanno-Colombian of 1941 was started the September 9th 1941 and was held the October 21st in order to elect the Député S of the 20th legislature of the legislative Assemblée of the Colombia-British. It is about the 20th general election in the province since the adhesion of the Colombia-British to the Canada in 1871.
The result of the election is extremely tight, the three principal parties taking all approximately 30% of the popular vote; the Fédération of the co-operative Commonwealth arrives slightly ahead with 33,4%, followed closely by the Liberal party with 33% and the Conservative party with 30%. On the other hand, the Liberal party gains 21 seats, against 14 for the co-operative Commonwealth and 12 for the conservatives; it is not however enough to ensure the majority to them.
In order to block the rise of the co-operative Commonwealth socialist, the liberals forms a coalition with the conservatives in order to secure a majority Gouvernement; this coalition will be formalized at the time of the two following elections, where the two parties will arise in a block to the elections and will thus keep the capacity in the province for the 11 next years.
Thomas Dufferin Pattullo, the chief of the Liberal party is not however agreement with the coalition with the conservatives; he resigns of his post office to the head of the party and seat as a liberal deputy. John Hart, which grants the coalition, thus becomes Prime Minister for the Colombia-British to the head of a coalition of 32 deputies.

Notes:
1 J. Hinchliffe had gained the nomination of the preserving association of North Vancouver, but when it expresses its dissension with the policy of the roads of the party, it is repudiated by the chief of the party, R.L. Maitland. A group called the Conservative Action Club names A.H. Bayne, which receives the approval of Maitland. Bayne, however, could not be presented under the banner of the Conservative party since the nomination of Hinchliffe had already been recorded. Consequently, the voices collected by Hinchliffe are included in the total of the Conservative party and Bayne, which arised as a " Conservative officiel" , is compiled separately.
