General confederation of the small and medium-size companies

The General confederation of the Small and medium-size companies ( CGPME ) is a French Employers' association representing the Small and medium-size companies.

The CGPME was created by Leon Gingembre, industrial manufacturer of metal articles in October 1944. She is present today in all the departments of France, and sometimes like regional structure.

Its members are managers of undertaking who invested their own inheritance.

The CGPME represents 1.500.000 SME by the means of a representation by the individual professional branches on the one hand and adhesions on the other hand. It joins together nearly 250 professional federations.

The current President of the CGPME is Jean-François Roubaud. He was elected by 72% of the voters on October 16th, 2002.

The CGPME publishes each month " Will of PME".

Since 2003, the CGPME joins together each year with the Palate of the Congresses with Paris more than 10.000 heads of undertakings at the time of Planet SME (national day CGPME) where many ministers are also present.
