General algebra

The abstract algebra , or general algebra is the branch of the Mathématiques which carries mainly on the study of the algebraic structures and of the relations between them. The term abstract algebra is used to distinguish it from the elementary algebra which teaches the rules of handling of the formulas and the algebraical expressions.

Historically the algebraic structures are not studied separately. Also the abstract algebra has many connections with all the branches of mathematics.

The study of the algebraic structures can be made in a way unified within the framework of the universal Algèbre.
