General advice of the Highways Departments

The General advice of the Highways Departments ( CGPC ) is one of the oldest institutions of France, direct heir to the assembly of the general inspectors of the Highways Departments joined together regularly starting from 1747 by Daniel-Charles Trudaine.

The decree of the 7 Fructidor year XII (August 25th 1804) creates the council under its current denomination.

The CGPC has just celebrated its bicentenary.

Chaired by the Minister for Ecology, the Development and Installation durable, the CGPC exerts missions of inspection, evaluation, expertise and reflection in the fields of installation, town planning, housing, transport, civil engineering and construction.
