General Multilingual Environmental Thesaurus

The GEMET , or General Multilingual Environmental Thesaurus , is a Thesaurus multilingual developed and published by the European Agence for the environment.

GEMET is the compilation of several multilingual vocabularies, and presents the shape of a general thesaurus, having for goal to define a general terminology for the field of the environment. The current version is available of 22 languages and contains more than 6000 descriptors.

GEMET is available to the public under several formats. One can sail and seek in the vocabulary on line, question it by Services Web, or download it with the formats HTML or SKOS.

GEMET belongs to the project XMDR, which is a Registre of metadata.
