Gene subjected to print

A gene subjected to print is a Gène whose activity depends of its maternal or paternal origin whereas the majority of genes are active whatever their origin.

The good performance of gene requires at the same time maternal and paternal gene. The majority of genes subjected to print are localized on the Chromosome 6, 7, 11, 14, 15.

The activity of gene depends on its Méthylation: an active gene is hypométhylé, an inactive gene is hyperméthylé.

The knowledge of genes subjected to print makes it possible to include/understand some genetic diseases and allows a relevant genetic council. Thus, the disappearance of active gene by Délétion or Disomie uniparentale with presence of two inactive genes is responsible for:
