GeneWeb

GeneWeb is a Logiciel of Généalogie equipped with a Web interface, usable as well on a computer off-line to the network as in service Web, initially conceived by Daniel de Rauglaudre. It uses techniques of calculation of relationship and extremely effective Consanguinité, concoctés in collaboration with Didier Rémy, research director with INRIA.

GeneWeb, Free software under public License general GNU, written in language Ocaml, is available for Unix, Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X.

This software in particular makes it possible to manage genealogical databases of large manpower: the base “Roglo” (http://geneweb.inria.fr/roglo], for example, brings together 2.188.320 people at present (on October 31st 2007). The million was exceeded in May 2005.
