Gemmothérapie
The gemmothérapie is a nonconventional Médecine rested by Doctor Pol Henry, it uses vegetable embryonic fabrics in growth such as young person-growths, buds, rootlets, prepared by maceration in a mixture of water, glycerin and alcohol to obtain an extract which one names “macérat glycerol-coated”.
The word gemmothérapie comes from Latin “gemmae”, which means at the same time bud and invaluable stone (allusion to the apparent stability of the buds in winter like to their preciosity)
History
August 1st Doctor Henry (October 22nd, 1918 in Belgium - 1998) was the first to pose the assumption that the méristème (formed vegetable fabric of cells dividing quickly and who constitutes the zone of growth of the plants) was to contain all the informative energy with the development of the trees. He named this news face of the Phytothérapie, the phytoembryothérapie which will become later the gemmothérapie, name given by the doctor Tetau homeopath.
Buds
The bud present at its base a merismatic zone consisted of cell S undifferentiated not creating Photosynthèse (Plastid S nonfunctional) but which multiply very quickly at the time of stripping. This zone never dies (embryogénie indefinite) and produce each year the sheets of the tree (one of these vegetable cell, can In vitro, to reconstitute the plant in its entirety). These buds contain all the power of the plant. The embryonic cells are found in phase of cellular multiplication intense. They contain more Nucleic acid (genetic information) that the other fabrics and contain various minerals, oligot-elements, vitamins and growth factors such as Hormone S (Auxine S, Gibbérelline) and Enzyme S and also the mineral Sève concentrated brought by the tree or the plant to spring.
According to Dr. Henry, the gemmothérapie mobilizes “ the potential biological energies ” of the embryonic elements. The buds constitute a true concentrate of information which contains the potential of the Totum plant. Thus the glycerol-coated macérat of Tilleul silver plated (Tilia tomentosa) has at the same time the sedative properties related to the flowers but also the dépuratives and diuretic virtues of sapwood. In the same way, the bud of Hawthorn ( Crataegus oxyacantha or Crataegus monogyna ) has at the same time the medicinal properties of the fruit (action on the cardiac muscle) and those of the flower (cardiac rhythm).
. Moreover, no study randomized as a double blind man was carried out, only method recognized like reliable by the Ordre of the doctors.
Galenic form: the glycerol-coated macérat
The glycerol-coated macérat is the traditional galenic form of the gemmothérapie. Its base is the Bourgeon or young person-pushes it of a tree, shrub or plant. Its solvents are alcohol, the vegetable glycerin (and water).
Preparation Galénique diluted
The fresh bud is put in maceration in a mixture of solvent alcohol/vegetable Glycérine without added water. After maceration and filtration, the liquid obtained, called macérat-mother or macérat glycerol-coated, is diluted 10 times in a water mixture/alcohol/glycerin to obtain the macérat glycerol-coated D1.The bud ratio/starting solvent is of 1/20ième (dry weight equivalent of bud). Let us note that the preparation of a Teinture mother " pharmacopeia française" is 2 times more concentrated than the glycerol-coated macérat (it is carried out with the 1/10ième equivalent plants dries).
-
Inconvénients
- water is not used as a solvent. It cannot then play its part in the extraction of the active ingredients and the energy transmission of the bud (to which Doctor P. Henri attached a great importance)
- posologies varies on average from 50 to 150 drops per day. This number of drop is tiresome to count.
- the quantity of alcohol introduced is important.

Advantages
Preparation Galénique concentrated
It should be noted that the Belgian school recommends, as for it, this method. The fresh bud is put in maceration in a mixture of solvents alcohol/vegetable Glycérine/water, so that each liquid occupies 1/3 of the total weight. After maceration and filtration, one obtains the glycerol-coated macérat.-
Avantages
- water is used as a solvent. It can then play its part in the extraction of the active ingredients and the energy transmission of the bud.
- posologies vary on average from 5 to 15 drops per day. This number of drop is easy to count.
- the quantity of alcohol introduced is minimum (very useful for the child or the animals).
-
Inconvénients
- an unreasoned use of this product can quickly prove to be dangerous.
Principles of use
The gemmothérapie is used by internal way. A glycerol-coated macérat is preserved 3 years. It is only used or in the form of complexes. The complex form is recent and gathers in the same bottle several buds is associated to between-them with dyeing-mothers, Dilution S homeopathic, even of the Oligo-élément S.As it is seen posology is very variable according to the galenic form.
A marginal European practice in increase
The gemmothérapie is a marginal practice. Indeed, it was the subject of no study randomized as a double blind man, only method recognized like reliable by the Ordre of the doctors| Random links: | Alliance for the conscience citizen | White wine | Patriotic romanticism | Charles Williams (writer U.S.) | Hubert François Gravelot | Liste_de_genres_d'Amaryllidaceae |
