Gegharkunik
Geghark' unik' (ARM. Գեղարքունիքիմարզ) is the name of a Armenian province located at the North-East of the country close to the border with the Azerbaïdjan. It is in this area that the Lac Sevan extends, largest of Arménie. The capital of this province is Gavar, and the principal cities are Kamo and Vardenis.
The enclave of Artsvashen, although occupied by the Azerbaïdjan, is attached to the province.
The monasteries of Ayrivank and Sevanavank, is in the west of the area.
