Gecko (Latin myth)

The myth of Gecko takes seat in the cycle of Déméter /C eras, when this one seeks his/her daughter Perséphone removed by Hadès.

Déméter, under the human appearance of an old woman, traverses the whole world to find Perséphone. She stops with Eleusis, where she asks hospitality a family. The latter receives it pleasantly.

But at the time of the evening meal, Déméter, exhausted and eating goûlument its meal, fact laughter the little boy of the family which lodged it. It should be believed that the vision of this éreintée woman precipitating on food made make fun the child.
