The gbaka (or minibus) is minis because of public transport of 18 places (Toyota, Isuzu, Mazda…) into force with Abidjan, economic capital of the Ivory Coast.

Operation

These mini bus have the characteristic to have a young person (man or woman) playing the double part of search for customers and reception of the transport document of the passengers. This apprentice , fixed on the door of the vehicle, draws the attention by gesticulations and acrobatics which are worth to him to be called balancor .

The Gbaka is also used for displacements of city to city. This transport is very much used, because of a lack of means financial, by populations which, at the same time, fear it. Indeed, the drivers (often Burkinabe) work " 24 hours on 24" and are often exhausted, which results in many accidents.
