Gazette of Lausanne

The Gazette of Lausanne was a published Swiss daily newspaper of French language with Lausanne. The first number is published of February 1st, 1798 under the name of Peuple Of Vaud . Its founder is the revolutionist Gabriel-Antoine Miéville. The title of Gazette of Lausanne was adopted in 1803.

It appeared in the form daily of 1856 to 1991. It was absorbed by the Journal of Geneva in 1991. Its name disappeared in 1998, when the Journal of Geneva amalgamated with the Nouveau Daily newspaper to give rise to the Temps.

Under the name of literary Gazette , its supplement of Saturday was the principal body of cultural information in French-speaking Switzerland between 1949 and 1972.

The Gazette of Lausanne was a daily newspaper of liberal obedience.
