Gavin Christopher Newsom (born the October 10th 1967 with San Francisco) is an American politician and owner of restaurants, member of the Democratic party. Since the January 8th 2004, it is the 42e mayor of San Francisco, in California, succeeding Willie Brown, and it was re-elected in November 2007 with approximately 68% of the voices. Gavin Newsom is a cousin of the harpist Joanna Newsom.

Homosexual marriages
He draws the in February 2004 attention when it orders to the officers civil statue to modify the certificates of Mariage to accept the unions between people of the same sex, in infringment with the private bill n°22 voted by the Californian ones in 2000. Personal life
Gavin Newsom marries in 2001 Kimberly Guilfoyle, old Mannequin and Procureur associated of San Francisco, then expert legal on Court TV, CNN and MSNBC (she officiates from now on on Fox News). The couple makes a joint petition for divorce on January 7th, 2005, calling upon difficulties due to their respective careers, on two opposite coasts. A romantic connection from February in May 2006 between Newsom and the actress Sofia Milos, a very visible follower of the Church of Scientology, gives place to a light media controversy, like its short connection with the coed and mannequin Britannie Mountz, then 20 years old.
