Gave of Marcadau
The Gave of Marcadau is a precursor of the Gave de Jéret and through him, of the Gave de Cauterets of which they constitute the principal course, in the Hautes-Pyrénées.
It draws its name from the Port of Marcadau, place of exchanges between the two slopes of the chain Pyrénéen.

The gave of Marcadau results from the meeting in bottom of valley from:- (G) gave of Batans, meeting of:
- (G) gave of Cambalès, coming from the collar of Cambalès (2 706 m)
- (G) brook of Bassia, coming from the Lake Bassia and of the lake Nère
- (D) brook of the Port of Marcadau
- (D) gave of Arratille, coming from the Collar of Arratille (2 501 m)
It is reinforced finally water of the small valley of Pouey Trénous (3.7 km, Right Bank).
