Gave de Gaube

The Gave de Gaube is a precursor of the Gave de Jéret and through him, of the Gave de Cauterets, in the Hautes-Pyrénées. It draws its name from the Lac of Gaube (a word which means “lake” in Gascon).

Upstream of the lake, the gave is called gave oulettes of Gaube . Geography -->

The gave is born from the collection of water of the Oule ttes of the Vignemale , and in particular of the cast iron of the glacier of the oulettes . It is reinforced water of the Lac of Chabarrou and Laquets of Estibe Aute, then feeds the Lac of Gaube (1  725  m). It ensures of it finally the discharge in the Gave de Jéret the Pont of Spain (to 1  496  m).
