Gaunes
Gaunes or Gannes is the name of the kingdom of Bohort (the father of Bohort Essillié and Lionel in the Légende arthurienne).
The borders of this legendary kingdom are difficult to determine, but it is known as that it was located at the borders of the Western Gaulle (the Neustrie of the 6th century) and of small Brittany d' Armorique, i.e. on the walk of Brittany.
Professor Jean-Charles Payen (1931-1984), a specialist in the medieval history, essentially locates this territory on current the Normandy and the area of the Maine, to the countries of the Loire beyond the the Sarthe.
