Gathering for the alternative progressist
The Rassemblement for the alternative progressist (RAP) was a Political movement, then a Political party Québécois.
It is in 1998 that one founds this movement in order to gather the forces progressists in Quebec. The same year, this movement introduces seven independent candidates to the general elections. Among these candidates, one counts celebrates it trade unionist Michel Chartrand.
Among the other candidates, there was also Normand Gilbert, which was presented in the form of a candidate of UFP in 2003, Michel Fontaine and Denys Duchesne.
Two years later, the RAP becomes officially a political party. The political program of the new party is centered on the Social-démocratie, the national independence and the equality between the men and the women. A government carried out by the RAP would have given to the people the capacity to write his Constitution, would have signed a treaty aiming at reconciling the First Nations with the people of Quebec and would have revalued the participation of Quebec within international treaties not going in the direction of the values defended by the party. Moreover, the RAP positioned in favor of the adoption of a mode of Scrutin proportional and parity man-woman to the National Assembly of Quebec. Accordingly, the RAP imposed the parity man-woman within her structures. Then, the RAP decided in favor of the implication on the regional level of the trade unions, the Community groups and the representatives of the users within the boards of directors of the hospitals. In addition, the RAP will fight against the tender with the laws of the market of the policies related on the culture, the education and the protection of the French language and wishes to reform the economic structure so that it respects the Environnement more, that in any time the citizens be consultéEs when there is a project of establishment of a polluting industry and to make decrease the gas emissions with greenhouse effects. Lastly, the members of the RAP are divided into what milked with the returned of citizenship. Some would prefer a policy of full employment
