Gateshead
Gateshead is a town of England in the suburbs of the town of Newcastle.
Geography
Gateshead is on southern bank of the river the Tyne, beside Newcastle upon the Tyne. The climate is rainy there as in close Scotland and Ireland.

Economy
The population is for almost the whole of middle-class as in Newcastle. Unemployment is strongly present and of vandalism follows itself from there.

History and culture
After the First World War, the rabbi Eliahou Dessler was the founder of the orthodoxe Jewish community of Gateshead: he founded the collel harabonim of Gateshead, first in his category in Europe, as well as Gateshead beis hamidrash lemorot, orthodoxe Jewish school for young girls. Gateshead is one of the organizing cities of the International festival of Animation and Video games Animex.
Sport
The footballers Chris Waddle and Paul Gascoigne were born in Gateshead, just like the rugby player Andrew Springgay.Gateshead International Stadium accommodated the Coupe of Europe of the nations of athletics in 1989 and 2000. Gateshead also accommodated the Championnats of Europe of swimming in 1993 and the Championnats of the world of cross-country race in 1983.
