Gate Web

A gate Web is a Web site which offers a single main door on a broad panel of resources and services (Email, Discussion forum, spaces of publication, Search engine) centered on a field or a particular community.

The users have most of the time the possibility of being recorded with a gate to connect themselves later on and use to it the whole of the proposed services, of which in particular the Personnalisation of their workspace, which is organized using elements of IHM basic: the portlets.

One should not confuse the Web gate with a site institutional gate. It acts in this last case of a site being used as single access road towards the various sites of an organization (business enterprise, public institution).
