Gaston of Chaumont

Gaston of Chaumont is Connétable of France under Philippe Ier (about 1107), lord of Fresne and Poissy (because of its wife).

Called the eloquent one, he is the son of Robert of Chaumont. Of its marriage with Jaqueline of Poissy, it had at least 6 children. Robert de Fresne, who married a certain Pétronille Lady; Gaston of Poissy, which was buried in the abbey of Abecourt; Amaury of Poissy, which married an Eve Lady; Gervais of Poissy; Silly goose or Pétronille of Poissy.

As a constable, it subscribed a charter, of Philippe Ier, who replaces the nuns of Saint Eloi of Paris, by 12 nuns of Saint-Maur-of-Ditches, so that they live there according to the rule of Saint Benoit. It also grants a right of frankness and exemption of toll, on its ground of Mantes, in favor of the abbey of the Nozzle (agreement confirmed by his/her children). Lastly, it founds the abbey of Abecourt, which was used as necropolis family.
