Gaston Reiff was the first Belgian to gain a gold medal in Athlétisme by gaining the test of the 5000 meters, the August 2nd 1948 at the time of the Olympic Games of London. One of the principal rivals of Gaston Reiff on the sporting level will be the Czech Emil Zatopek. What will not prevent the two men from maintaining a major friendship. Gaston Reiff is also the author of 26 national records and three world records.
