Kelman also defends the right of each one to choose in its culture of origin what one keeps or not; Thus one can be black and not like the manioc. Its positions are sometimes criticized in particular by the press which sees in him a traitor with the " cause; réparationniste" from Africa (Cameroon Platform).
In July 2007, it gives an opinion in favor of the Ministère of Immigration, Integration, the National identity and Codéveloppement created by Nicolas Sarkozy.
What does one reproach this ministry which, for my part, is most ambitious, that one never conceived on the matter? … By binding immigration and national identity, the capacity recognizes that immigration is constitutive of this identity which it must enrich, but of which it can also threaten the bases. Therefore, vigilance! Any nation has an identity| Gaston Kelman |Release, July 16th, 2007
