Gashapon

With the Japan, a gashapon is at the same time a machine with parts distributing Jouet S, and the toys which it distributes.

It is about a Mot-valise Japanese resulting from the contraction from two Onomatopée S, corresponding each one to a its:

  • wasted ” for the sound of the turn of crank of a machine saddle jib crane,
  • pon ” for the sound of the capsule falling into the receptacle from the machine.

The toys are generally figurines resulting from the Merchandizing of the industry of the Manga S and Japanese animated series, of which they represent the characters. The figurines, ten centimetres, are in plastic and with are generally intended to be decorative, or to be used as Porte-clés.

It is not rare in Japan to see, close to a store of toys, to align tens of machines, each machine distributing the figurines of a different series.

Each machine distributes a certain number of figurines to Collection ner. As they make it possible to obtain the figurines only with the chance, the purchaser inserts his currency and hopes to obtain the figurine which it wishes, which becomes frustrating since it is each time likely to obtain the same one. Thus, even if the cost of the gashapon is relatively low (often 100 Yen S, is nearly 1 Euro), the fact owe réessayer several times made that costs relatively much to the collectors.
