Gas concrete
The gas concrete is a Construction material intended for the Carcass work heavy castings. Manufactured exclusively starting from natural raw materials, it results from a scientist proportioning of water, sand, cement and air. The blocks are presented in the form of right-angled parallelepiped of color white. A range supplements made up of blocks, lintels, flagstones of floor and of roof, squares for partitions make it possible to build a house entirely out of gas concrete.
Older than it is thought (his creation goes back to 1927), the gas concrete is usually used. It is estimated, on a European scale, that 500.000 houses are built each year with this material.
If the material is voted by plebiscite of long time in the countries of Northern Europe, it is essential more gently in the hexagon for reasons of a cultural nature. In France, one isolates a dwelling by the interior with the difference of Germany which insulates by outside. The insulation by the interior consumes more energy because the heat flows circulate by the cold bridges (junction of the external walls, junction of the walls and floors) what accounts for on average 40% of losses of energy. The gas concrete is a material called to left again insulation which does not require the addition of any other material of complementary insulation. They is the famous 2 into 1: carrier and insulator what guaranteed the perenniality of the insulation (not of weakening nor of deterioration possible by the rodents in the absence of brought back insulator).
Properties
The gas concrete does not require any complementary insulator. Its honeycomb structure made up of million micro cells of air confers its heat insulator properties to him. The professionals call this type of insulation “the insulation distributed” or “monomur”. Imprisoned in a homogeneous way in the mass of material, the air assumes its role of perfect insulator. Thus the gas concrete does not authorize any heat loss. It makes obstacle with heat in summer and guard the house with the heat all the winter. Other assets: it is a material which breathes while letting migrate the steam naturally released by the occupants and their daily activities. This hygroregulation is essential to avoid all risks of barrier to ambient moisture, the formation of condensation and the appearance of moulds. Lastly, it is a fireproof mineral material. Classified M0, the gas concrete is non flammable. It does not emit any gas, nor smoked toxic. In the event of fire, a wall has a capacity firebreak six hour old.The installation of material proves extremely fast and easy to work (9 m ² /heure) thanks to an assembly carried out using an mortar-adhesive (poses known as “with thin joint”). Moreover, the ergonomics of the blocks (with handles and fitment for some: the block remains quite parallel to the body of the mason) and their lightness (for example approximately 120 Kg/m ² in thickness 30 cm for the cellular concrete blocks of the mark " Thermopierre" ) allow an effectiveness of implementation.
Manufacture
The important phases of manufacture are:-
preparation, the proportioning and the malaxation of the raw materials (sand, lime, cement and water)
- preparation of the moulds
- casting, lifting and the hardening of the paste
- the cutting and the shaping of the products
- the passage out of autoclave under a pressure of approximately 10 bars and with 180° C during 10 with 12:00
- palletization and plastic covering
The manufacturing process out of autoclave corresponds to the industrialization of a process which succeeds, in a natural state, with the creation of a mineral to the similar molecular structure: the tobermorite, calcium silicate hydrate. The process thus consists in imitating this material existing in a natural state.
This manufacturing process, developped at the point and developed by the company " Xella Thermopierre" , the only gas concrete manufacturer in France, supports the operation of the factories in closed cycle: they do not reject any liquid or solid substance likely to pollute water or ground, and waste resulting from this phase of production, not very important and completely inert, is developed to 90%. In the atmosphere, the only released gas is steam. The manufacture of the gas concrete requires moreover little energy, of which a part is, in addition, recycled to heat the offices contiguous to the production sites and water necessary to this process is also re-used.
Dimensions
In reference to the blocks produced by Xella Thermopierre, the only manufacturer in France.Range of three types of blocks: smooth (type L), with handle (standard TP) or handle and double profile with fitment (standard TPE). Available in thickness 25,30 and 36,5 cm (height 25 or 50 cm - width 62,5 cm).
