The gas chamber is a device intended for the setting for died by poisoning by respiratory tracts.

Presentation

This technique of execution was pushed on an industrial level with Auschwitz by the Nazi S to exterminate - inter alia - mentally handicapped persons, Juifs, Rroms, homosexual and Communiste S during the Second world war. The gas employed with Auschwitz was the hydrocyanic acid , released by the Zyklon B of the firm IG Farben. In some other death camps, in fact exhaust fumes were used in an exclusive way, which killed, by intoxication with the Carbon monoxide, the victims in mobile trucks. It was, for example, the case with Chelmno as from December 1941.

In Auschwitz, the buildings of gazage belonged to crematory, Krema I, II, III, IV and V (K I in Auschwitz I, others in Auschwitz II i.e. Birkenau). For some, the gas chambers took the alleviating appearance of shower-rooms being able to contain simultaneously to 3.000 people for K II and III and 2.000 for K IV and V. Once the closed doors, an officer Nazi poured the crystals of Zyklon B by openings which it sealed then. In certain cases, the product fell into hollow columns marking out the room from where the gas started to diffuse. Death occurred gradually after 6 to 20 minutes (variable according to the quantity of people in the room) of convulsions and vomiting accompanied by an extreme anguish. After a time which was considered to be suitable by a doctor S looking for that in the part by a judas, the corpses were evacuated towards crematoriums with very high banc.

The negationnists declares that the descriptions made by the survivors are inaccurate, the toxicity of Zyklon B being such as it was impossible to enter the gas chambers without masks before several hours, which would make impossible the output admitted by all the historians. In fact, before opening the doors, the corpses being covered with vomits and dejection, the water of the showers was open in order to clean the room, which caused to dissipate gas, this one being absorbent. Moreover, the gas chambers were equipped with ventilation system which renewed the air in a few minutes. With Treblinka, the shower heads not being connected to water, the prisoners used fire hoses, with the same effect.

The presence of the their use and gas chambers by the Nazis is paradoxically the object of an ignorance of the general public, ignorance used by the negationnists to deny and deny their existence. In fact, confusion comes mainly (in addition to certain outrageous remarks) from a bad knowledge by the general public of the difference between the death camps (Chelmno, Belzec, Sobibor, Treblinka, Auschwitz, Majdanek) which had which it - or which used the process of the trucks, according to the cases -, for some as of 1941, at ends of assassinations in mass mainly of the Jews (as of their arrival in these true centers of setting to dead), and the Concentration camps which were used as camp of work (Dachau, Drancy, etc) which made only one limited use of it, in order to eliminate the too exhausted or sick deportees, become inapt for work.

  • It is also appropriate to recall that gazages using exhaust fumes were tested by the handicapped Nazis to assassinate the (or the patients labelled “useless lives”) in a vast improperly qualified plan of euthanasia, which on the whole made, according to the estimates, of 70.000 for more than 100.000 victims, very mainly between 1939 and 1941, the plan having officially ceased following the protests of the Catholic church (there was then a campaign wild elimination, not using more gas and making definitely less victims).

  • a certain number of countries, including certain American States always use the gas chamber like legal means of Exécution. It tends to being replaced by the Lethal injection.
  • the gas chambers are also largely used like means of massive Abattage of animals.
