Garrulaxe of Bungun

The garrulaxe of Bungun ( Liocichla bugunorum ) ) is a Passereau lately discovered in a natural reserve of the North-East of the India (Arunachal Pradesh). Its name comes from that of a local tribe, the Bugun.

It was observed first once in 1995, the statute of was established only in May 2006, thanks to work of an ornithologist amateur, Ramana Athreya. The manpower of the species would not be that of 14 individuals. The last bird discovered in India had been the Turdinule of Mishmi ( Spelaeornis badeigularis ) in 1948.
