Garrison Keillor

Garrison Keillor is a writer and Humoriste étatsunien.

It was born in Anoka in the Minnesota in 1942 and obtained its diploma with the Université of Minnesota in 1966. Initially man of radio, it started to tell the adventures of Lake Wobegon (of woebegone which means sad, cut down), a small town of Minnesota forgotten by time, on the Minnesota Public Radio operator. The emission called has Prairie Home Companion became very popular and held the antenna of 1974 with 1987.

Of these broadcast stories, Keillor made humorous Nouvelle S which it published in The Atlantic Monthly and The New Yorker and joins together later in books.

The stories are full with tenderness for the characters who want to be typical small towns. For the author, Lake Wobegon is this city “  where all the women are strong, all the men have beautiful appearance and all the children are above the moyenne  ”.
