Garnay
Garnay is a common department of Eure-et-Loir, in the area Center, in France. It is a residential village located at 4 km in the south of Dreux and at approximately 36 km in the North-East of Chartres.
Its inhabitants are called the Garnetais (be) .
Geography
The commune of Garnay is bordering on Vernouillet in north, Tréon in the south, Allainville and Garancières-in-Drouais in the west and of Marville-Moutiers-Flaring in the east. It is irrigated by the Blaise, Affluent of the the Eure.The village is at the bottom of the valley of the Blaise, while the communal territory extends on both sides on the surrounding plates. The slopes is and western are strongly wooded.
The commune is served by the secondary road 928 which connects Dreux to Châteauneuf-in-Thymerais and then joined the main road 23 in direction of the Mans. This road follows the edge of the plate in the part is commune. A local road connects the center of the village to Vernouillet while following the bottom of the valley. A line of Railroad with single track, closed down, follows D 928. It formerly connected Dreux to Chartres.

- the poet Jacques Losme de Monchesnay, called the poet of Chartres, died in 1714 with Garnay where it had been withdrawn at the end of his life.
