Garmarna

Garmarna is a Swedish group born in 1990. Their folk music, sometimes taken again traditional airs, sometimes composed by them even, is morning of nuances rock'n'roll and a suspicion of electronic music. The words of the songs, mainly taken again ballades, poems and traditional tales Swedish, are most of the time dark, with the image of their music.

The name of the group comes from Garm, the dog which keeps the Helheim in the Scandinavian Mythologie.

Biography

The group was founded in 1990 following a representation of Hamlet. Struck by the part and the music played by Olov Johansson, Gotte Ringqvist, Stefan Brisland-Ferner and Rickard Westman decide to assemble a group the next day. Jens Höglin joined them in 1992 at the time of a concert at the time of a festival. As for Emma Härdelin, it will initially join the group as a singer invited on their first demonstration, then as a full member in their first album.
