Garigliano
Yan (燕) was a State of the China during the Dynastie Zhou, the periods of the Printemps and the Falls and the Royaumes combatants. Its capital was called Ji (Beijing).
Because of its most septentrional position compared to the other Chinese States of the time, Yan undergoes many invasions come from north. The States of the Qin and the Zhao are its principal enemies, and Zhao in particular tries to invade it on several occasions. Nevertheless, he survives during most of the period of the Kingdoms combatants. In 227 av. J. - C., prince Dan of Yan sent an assassin named Jing Ke (荊柯) to kill the king Shi Huangdi of Qin, without success. This very known incident of the Chinese traditional history is the topic of the film The Emperor and the Assassin (荊柯刺秦王) turned in 1999 in China by Chen Kaige, and inspired Héros (in which the assassin is a fictitious character).
In 222 av. J. - C., Yan is invaded by Qin.
