Gareth Southgate

Gareth Southgate , born the September 3rd 1970 with Crawley in the Sussex (England), is an English player of Football. Southgate is a central defender, and is currently trainer of Middlesbrough Football Club. Southgate played for the England and is known to have missed the 6th penalty by the shootings to the goal in the semi-final of the Euro 96 against the Germany. Between 1996 and 2002, Southgate played 57 times for the English team, without marking of goal.

Southgate began its career in 1989 with Crystal De luxe hotel as a medium ground before being bought by Aston Villa for 2,5 million books in 1995. With the club of Birmingham, it evolved/moved at the station of defender, and was finally named captain by the trainer John Gregory. Nevertheless, Southgate wanted to sign for a more ambitious club and left Aston Villa in 2001 for the North-East of England with Middlesbrough, under the control of Steve McClaren. He became the captain of 'Boro in 2002 after the departure of Paul Ince and gained in 2004 the Coupe of the League. In 2006 its team, Middlesbrough, lost at the time of the finale of the UEFA Cup against FC Seville. In June 2006, Southgate became the new trainer of Middlesborough, after the departure of Steve McClaren. ----
