Garcette of laugh
The garcettes of laugh are small lengths of fine ropes, or Bout S, fixed at residence on the veils, and allowing Ferler the unutilised part of the veil after a catch of laugh.
The garcettes of laugh hang on both sides sail while passing by eyelets of laugh. They are stopped by simple a Demi-noeud on each side of the eyelet. Their length must be sufficient so that the two ends can beings tied one with the other while passing around the Espar (Bôme for example).
Essential in the traditional navy, on the square sails, they fell in disuse with modern technologies from roller or at catch of laugh automatic.
