Gandie ( Catalan Gandia in (Valencian) and Castilian Gandía in ) is a city of the Province of Valence, in the Valencian Communauté, on the coast the Spanish Mediterranean . It is the chief town of the Comarca (Canton or district) of the Safor and is on banks of the Serpis, small river whose old name was riu of Alcoi , its source being close to this city. Formerly cradle of Ausiàs March, of Joanot Martorell, Joan Roís de Corella and of the family of the Borja (Italian Borgia), it is nowadays an important seaside resort, thanks to its Grau (port).
