Gambaiseuil

Gambaiseuil is a common French, located in the department of the Yvelines and the area Île-de-France.

Its inhabitants is called the Gabisans .

Geography

The commune of Gambaiseuil is located at 35 km in the west of Versailles and at 16 km with the north-north-west of Rambouillet.

It is bordering on Grosrouvre in the North-East, Saint-Leger-in-Yvelines in the east and south-east, Cop-on-Vesgre in south-west, Bourdonné with the west-south-west and Gambais in the North-West.

The communal territory is almost entirely included in the main forest of Rambouillet, except for the clearing which shelters the village.

The communications with the common neighbors is done essentiellent by the secondary road D112. The Trunk road 12 passes to a few kilometers to the north of the commune.

Gambaiseuil is irrigated by the brook of the Quentin Bridges, emissary of the ponds of Holland and affluent of the Vesgre.

With only 54 inhabitants (in 1999), it is the commune which with the more weak density of population of Ile-de-France.

History

The territory depended formerly on the Notre-Dame abbey of Grandchamp.

The Village of Gambaiseuil is classified historic building since 1979.
