Gamaches

Gamaches is a common French, located in the department of the Somme and the area Picardy.

Geography

In the West of the borough, in direction of the Tréport, along the Bresle, of vast ponds, partly old sand pits and paradises for fishermen, have accommodated for a few years a base of nautical leisures.




History

Formerly, one could reach Gamaches by 5 doors. There were worms the valley of the Vimeuse (carries of Abbeville). It is thus it which made it possible to go to Maisnières.

  • 1471 : After denunciation by Louis XI of the treaty of Fibula and its declaration of seizure of the seigniory of the Vimeu, the Burgundian , Masters of Abbeville, devastates the area. Gamaches then is taken and burned again.

  • 1472 : New episode of the war enters France and Burgundy. Charles Bold the devastation Picardy and Gamaches before the plague decimates its troops but also the area.
