Galvorn
In the work of J.R.R. Tolkien, the galvorn is a noble metal invented by Eöl, quoted in Silmarillion .
The swords Anglachel and Anguirel are forged in galvorn.
-
“ It learned how art there to work metal and became very skilful there. He invented even a metal as hard as the steel of the Dwarves and so malleable at the same time as there could make it as thin and flexible as silk while remaining impenetrable to the arrows as with the swords. He called it the galvorn , because he was black and shining like jet, and he was covered with it each time he travelled. ” ( Silmarillion )
