Gallup (New Mexico)

The town of Gallup is in the west of the State of the New Mexico. It was creates in 1880 at the place where the workmen who built the railway line came to seek their pays at the person in charge David L. Gallup. Gallup became officially the name of the city in 1881.

Demography

40,11% of the inhabitants are white, 36,64% are Amerindian and 23,25% belong to other ethnos groups.

Economy

Gallup has a municipal airport (code AITA: GUP).
