Gallo-Romance Languages
The gallo-Romance languages (or the gallo-novel ) are a subdivision of the Romance Langues. This category is frequent in the traditional classification of the Romance languages.
According to the most diffused design, the gallo-novel includes/understands the French, the Francoprovençal and the Occitan.
In a more recent and more moderated classification, launched by the linguist Pierre Nozzle, the gallo-Romance languages stictement include/understand a sub-group gallo-novel and sub-groups of transition:
-
gallo-Romance Languages strictly speaking
- French or language (S) of oil
- Francoprovençal or Arpitan
- occitano-Romance Languages (transition between gallo-Romance languages and ibéro-Romance languages)
- Transition between gallo-Romance languages and italo-Romance languages
