Gall Costa

Gall Costa is the name of artist of Maria das Graças Costa Penna Burgos (El Salvador (Bahia) - September 26th, 1945) of a Brazilian singer of Brazilian popular music.

Chronology

  • 1964 - leaves El Salvador to live in his/her Nívea cousin, with Rio de Janeiro. Then, it occupies a place in an apartment with Sá Ferreira, before meeting with the friends in Solar da Fossa, where lived also Caetano Veloso and Paulinho da Viola
  • 1965 - With Maria Bethânia, first recording on disc: the duet " Ground negro" , follow-up of its first compact with “Have vim da Bahia” (I came from Bahia) of Gilberto Gil and “Sim, faith você” (If, it were you) of Caetano Veloso.
  • 1965 - With the end of the year becomes acquainted with João Gilberto
  • 1966 - Participle with I Festival Internacional da Canção, interpreting " Minha senhora" , of Gilberto Gil and Torquato Neto

Musical work

Equipped with a soft and acute voice, the singer has a varied repertory, in general of romantic music which locates it among the largest Brazilian singers. During more than thirty years of career, they were tens of works in addition to much of participations in the discs of other artists. samba with the Baião, its voice changeable has an accuracy of tons single.
