Gaillette

Gaillette is the training center in drive of the Racing Club of Lens.

It is located at Avion, with less than 4 km of Lens.

Presentation

Gaillette , center of drive of the Racing Club of Lens, was inagurée the October 10th 2002 in the presence of the president Gervais Martel, of the Minister of sport Jean-François Lamour and the President of LNF Frederic Thiriez.

It counts more than one about fifteen grounds, of which in particular the Dôme , ground synthetic and covered of more than 75 length. The center has the characteristic to have baptized its grounds with the names of great European stages, like the Maracana or the Camp Nou.

Gaillette also has:

  • 55 rooms intended to place young Blood and Gold
  • a big space of musculation, rehabilitation and recovery
  • a space of balneotherapy (swimming pool, sauna, massage under water…)
  • an amphitheater of 250 places conceived for the meetings or traditional the brief of before match
  • a room of restoration allowing to serve 300 meals per day
  • a big space being used with the administration but also for the chain RCL TV.

Total costs

The total costs of this equipment at the time of its creation were evaluated in 14 M€. Concerning the grounds, the town of Avion was satisfied to sell them with the price estimated by the fields, i.e. 121.000€.

It is also necessary to count the operating costs of this center which amounts to several million euros per annum.

Formation

Side formation, the level of the center remains very weak in spite of its modernity, since to date only some players succeeded in boring in the medium of football. Gaillette belongs only to the class B, and appears in the bottom of the established ranking by Technical Management National. Its weak point remains always the lack of time of play at the professional level for the trained players. Indeed, only Kévin Monnet-Package figure frequently in the occupational class, and takes part some times in meetings of the Championnat of France.
