Gaelic of Galloway
The Gaelic of Galloway is a Dialecte disappeared of goidelic origin , formerly spoken in south-west about the Scotland. In their time, the Seigneurs of Galloway spoke this language. More recently, she was spoken by the inhabitants about the Galloway and the Carrick. Lastly, she was also spoken in the Annandale and the Strathnith. It remains little of things of this dialect, which makes dubious its bond with the other goidelic languages.
Gaelic of Galloway is also known under the name of Gaelic gallovidien .
Gaelic gallovidien today
Although Gaelic of Galloway did not leave any form of literature and is extinct since centuries, modern authors continue to promote this dialect, which they take as a starting point in their works, in particular William Neill, a Scottish poet which writes in Scottish Gaélique, in Irish, Scots and English. One can also evoke in the same vein the " Gall-Gael Trust" , organization rested by MacLeod Hake.
