Gabrovo (in Cyrillic alphabet: Габрово ) is a city of the center of the Bulgaria leant with the northern slope of the mountainous chain Stara Planina or Grand Balkan. It is the Chef-lieu of the oblast of Gabrovo and, within this one, constitutes the only city within the obchtina of Gabrovo.
The city is built on the road of one of the principal collars crossing the mountainous chain, in the high valley of the Yantra, a picturesque area.
Its textile industries formerly were worth to him the Bulgarian nickname of Manchester .
Principal points of tourist interest: the monastery which bears the name of the city, the ethnographic village Etara.
