Gabriel Yared

Gabriel Yared (born the October 7th 1949) is a type-setter of origin Lebanon ease inspired by the traditional type-setters.

Biography

After studies of right which it gives up in 1971, this autodidact studies with the Teacher training school of Music of Paris then begins his career in 1973 while becoming type-setter, orchestrator or producer for artists such as Michel Jonasz, Charles Aznavour, Johnny Hallyday, Mireille Mathieu, Sylvie Vartan, Gilbert Bécaud or Francoise Hardy.

He has written film music for 20 years in the line of Georges Delerue.

In 2004, little time before the final completion of the film Troy of Wolfgang Petersen, for which it had been retained, the realizer and the producers decided not to keep the musics of G. Yared, too judged étincelantes and too old fashioned , making call in catastrophe with James Horner. He followed about it a long legal battle, which always lasts, between the studios (holders of the rights on this music and refusing to publish it) and the type-setter supported by very many admirors. What could be heard about it lets foresee a music powerful and attractive, that concluded a sublime final lament sung by the soprano Tania Tzarovska, who thereafter worked with James Horner.
