Gabriel Pérelle

Gabriel Pérelle , born with Vernon the March 7th 1604 and died in Paris in 1677, is a engraver French.

Biography

Gabriel Pérelle, formed by Daniel Rabel, carried out several hundreds of engravings as well according to its own drawings as of those of its competitor Israel Sylvestre, of Paul Bril, Jacques Callot, Michel Corneille, Pierre Asselin, Jacques Fouquières, Corneille Poëlembourg, Gaspre Poussin and of Beaulieu to the Eau-forte and in Taille-douce representing mainly landscapes of the Paris region, in particular of the sights of castles, where it introduced variety by the addition of ruins and various accessories.

Gabriel Pérelle, which was made help in its work by its two sons Nicolas (1625-1692) and Adam (1638-1695) and by two wire of Callot, Adam and Collignon, also produced engravings of battles and scenes of war.

Gabriel Pérelle, which was also the brother of a painter landscape designer working with Orleans was the father-in-law of the painter Rene Lonchon.

Gabriel Pérelle was also director of the plans and charts of the cabinet of the king.
