Gabriel Ier Báthory

Gabriel Ier Báthory prince of Transylvania of 1608 with 1613

Wire of István Báthory died in 1601 and Zsuzsanna Bebek, Gabriel Ier Bathory was the nephew of André Cardinal Báthory transitory prince de Transylvanie.

Born in Várad in 1589, he was elected in his turn prince of Transylvania on March 7th 1608 after the abdiquation of Sigismond II Rákóczi. After having overcome the prince Radu X Şerban in January and February 1611, it occupied the principality of Valachie during 1 year. It was made so odious that its subjects deposited it in September October 1613 with the profit of Gabriel II Bethlen. He died assassinated on October 27th of the same year. After Gabriel, the principality left this family.
