Gabriel Druillettes

Gabriel Druillettes (1610-1681) is a Jesuit and a missionary of Canada.

Born in France on September 29th, 1610, it entered to the Jesuits to Toulouse in 1629 and was ordered about 1642. It made its T roisième year of probation in 1642-1643 and arrived at Quebec in 1643-1644.

He was chaplain of a party of hunting algonquin in north (1644-1645). He lost the sight completely there; but it obtained its cure while it celebrated sacred mysterieies, and it was devoted to the service of the missions Montagnaises, Algonquin are, Papinachois be and Abénaquis be.

Started from Sillery the August 29th 1646, this father was the first missionary who went up the Rivière Boiler until the Kénébec. In 1652, Abénaquis carried regard as well to him as they naturalized it abénaquis

It is good , said to an English, which you know that the father is now of our nation, that we adopted it for our compatriot, that we consider it and like we it like wisest of our captains, - and that we respect it like the ambassador of Jesus, to which we want to be to entirely give, and consequently whoever the attack, attacks all the Abénaquis .

He was delegated Gouverneur from Quebec to Boston in Massachusetts (1650-1651). He is in Sillery of 1651 to 1661, then he is cleaned in 1652-1653 and of 1656 to 1661. He is missionary of Montagnais parelà the lake Midsummer's Day in 1661) and missionary in the valley of Saguenay (1664)

He still lives Quebec of 1664 to 1668. He works with the Verte bay in Wisconsin of 1668 to 1678. He withdrew himself in Quebec of 1678 to 1681, where he is deceased on April 8th, 1681.

He spent several years in the middle of these people. Lastly, overpowered infirmities, it returned in 1679 to Quebec, where it died, on April 8th, 1681.
