At the beginning of its career of concert performer, at the time of the first Corsica Festival of , in company of the pianist Jean-Bernard Pommier, the violonist Jean Mouillère, the quartet Via Nova , the harpist Martine Géliot, etc…, Gabriel Fumet was noticed by the critic like “placing itself at the very first row of the French School in this speciality, which, one knows, is it of a very high level” … (Le Figaro).
Much more recently, the monthly magazine Musiquinfo titrated in an article being devoted him: “a poet musician, endowed with a sensitivity and a musical direction except par” .
Its services in the town of Salzburg, whose several recitals with the Mozarteum were worth to him also criticisms particularly cordial in the Austrian press which announced on a side: “the admirable force of expression of its play” (Salzburger Nachrichten), other: “the extraordinary musical tension of its interpretations” (Landlicher Raum)
Gabriel Fumet also completed a remarkable work while making be up to all the tricks of its grandfather, Dynam-Victor Fumet (1867-1949) and that of his/her father Raphaël Fumet (1898-1979), two large type-setters. The Finance company Edmond de Rothschild and the Fondation Paribas agreed to help it in this company for some major recordings.
In March 2005 Gabriel Fumet was invited to Saint-Pétersbourg for a recital of French music at the time of the world creation of the Saisons for chorus of his/her grandfather Dynam-Victor Fumet by the vocal ensemble Yulia Khutoreskaya in collaboration with the Fleece of art . These two concerts obtained a very sharp success. Apart from its career of concert performer, Gabriel Fumet teaches with the international conservatory music of Paris where it accommodates amateurs and professionals.
“Gabriel Fumet is a flutist who incarnates and gives a heart to works that he interprets. The notes under its fingers, pushed by the breath, seem to escape from their range to take their take-off… as the words of a poet do it to whom it better of the actors can give the life…” (Jean-Pierre Nortel, Librettiste and director)
